Elizabeth Jeglic

Elizabeth Jeglic, Ph.D., is an internationally renowned sexual violence prevention expert.  She is a researcher and a professor of psychology at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Binghamton University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. She is the co-author of six books — including Child Sexual Grooming, Sexual Violence: Evidence Based Policy and Prevention, and Protecting your Child from Sexual Abuse. She has also published more than 130 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. She has received grants from the National Institute of Justice and the American Association for Suicide Prevention to fund her research. She a former associate editor of the journal Sexual Abuse and is on the editorial board of Psychology, Public Policy and Law and Sexual Abuse. Dr. Jeglic is also is co-director of the Sex Offender Research Lab at John Jay College. In 2015, she was awarded the Fay Honey Knopp Award from the New State Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers for her contributions to the prevention of sexual violence.  She lives with her husband and three children in New Jersey.  Dr. Jeglic also serves as an expert witness, consultant, speaker, trainer and media resource on issues related to sexual abuse, sexual grooming, and sexual violence prevention.
